Summer in Israel

Summer in Israel

Summer in Israel is hot, but lovely evenings with good food is worth it

Generally I don’t like the summer in Israel very much. I don’t like when it is too hot, but prefer the winter when I can add some more clothing if needed. But not everything is not great with the summer. First of all this year we added a hammock to our outdoor furniture. I prefer to support our youth instead of giving my money to some store. But first we actually thought of buying a hammock at Home Center in the Malcha Mall in Jerusalem. The price was great, on sale, and it looked ok. So what was the issue? you probably ask. And yes we had a big issue, the transportation. The guy that is doing transportation for Home Centre asked for 500 NIS to transport a piece of furniture from Jerusalem to our home in Maon. I am usually not stingy, but to pay nearly the same for transportation as for the hammock itself was too much for me so we kindly declined it. Instead we asked one of the boys here in Maon if he could build us a wooden hammock. The result as you can see here, is a beautiful solid wooden hammock. Thanks, David.

After we put the children to sleep on Saturday night, sometime before the Shabbat ended, we decided to sit and enjoy the hammock together. To breathe the delightful desert air and enjoy each other’s company.  This kind of luxury you can’t enjoy when you live in the city. It was so quiet and peaceful, just what we needed after a Shabbat with more than 35 degrees during the day. So tonight we will enjoy a nice BBQ, fresh grilled lamb filet with fresh basil and mint from our garden.

Until next time you hear from me, I wish you all a great evening and may we all pray hard for the release of our three kidnapped brothers and sons Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal.
